I am so excited to share this Lion’s Bridge family session! The weather was perfect for a summer evening, a light breeze and a gorgeous sunset over the water! The Mariners’ Museum Park and Lion’s Bridge area in Newport News, Virginia  means something a little bit different for this family -it represents a new start, a new house, and a new location.  This sweet family is moving to Newport News!!!! I couldn’t be more excited!! This adorable family is actually my best friend’s family! Becki and I have had a long friendship now.

We met in college, were college roommates, in each other weddings and have had a long distance friendship since. Jacob, her husband, graduated from West Point and the US Army sent them on their way (away from Virginia!) as soon as they got married.  Our two families have been seeing each other in person roughly twice a year over the last 7 years!  Can you imagine only seeing your best friend a few times in person over the course of 7 years??? We were beyond excited to hear that the Peek family was moving back to Virginia but also to hear that they will be living about 12 minutes away from us (of course, I mapped out the fastest way to get to their home!)

Today, movers came to their home in Alabama to pack them up to move to Virginia! (eek!) Before they could move here, they obviously had to find a new home. Several weeks ago they visited Newport News and we had the chance to hang out, let our kids play together, and enjoy some meals together. And of course, they found their new home! Right before they left the area, we ventured over the Lion’s Bridge to do some quick family pictures to celebrate their new start here in Virginia.
