Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia has some gorgeous architecture. From columns to arches to bricks, to everything in between it has perfect spot for portraits. And I can’t wait to share this Newport News family Session.  And for this husband and wife it holds a sweet past for them, since they were once CNU students. Years later, they get to visit the University with their three adorable children for family portraits. We started portraits under the beautiful arches and in the shade (it was getting hot). And then we moved around campus a little bit to see more of the architecture like the grand staircase of the Administrative building.

Meet the Shirk family-Drew, Suzy, Chapman, Lucy, and Everett.

We have known the Shirk family for years now. I  remember going to Suzy’s baby shower for Lucy! And this past year Suzy helped plan a baby shower for me (for baby Leland). We have been able to celebrate and encourage each other through different stages of our lives and parenting. And it is always an honor to photograph their sweet family!

Everett was just not excited! Awww! Sibling love! It feels like a lifetime ago that I was Lucy’s K4 teacher (In reality it has only been a few months!). She looks so grown-up here! There’s a smile!He was so excited to get his picture taken! bahaha! I just loved this Newport News family session!
