Big Changes | Personal

I finished my teaching career last week (read more about it here!). And well with teaching over, and Leland (read about his name here) soon to arrive, we are adding one (well actually two) new changes this year!

The first big change is that I will be staying home with the kids!! For the first time ever, I will be a stay-at-home mom!! It has always been something on my heart to do and now almost 2 1/2 years into motherhood I get a change to do it. I also get to do something different this year and that is serve another family.

We have always struggled with childcare. Finding childcare for the times we needed, reliable childcare, etc. We have used sitters, begged friends and family for the last 2 years to watch Kylie. We had one church friend that watched Kylie several times and saved us from so many scheduling issues that I prayed that I could be like her! She understood what it was like to be a working mom, she knew how hard it is to work and balance children and she was such encouragement to me. I have literally prayed that I would be able to serve a family like she served us. Well, the Lord works in mysterious ways!

Due to some strange circumstances, I will be taking care of a friend’s little boy until the school year is over! You may not think much about it, but it is an answered prayer for me. And well, I will be taking care of this little boy (14 months) on top of having a newborn and 2 year old! I will have a few days off when we have our son, but after that I will be taking care of 3 kiddos until the end of May. I (we) might be a little crazy to watch another child on top of about to have a child ourselves, but that is what it is to be a part of a community. Sometimes you have to serve each other even in the midst of personal chaos.

And the bigger news (besides staying home), is that I will be going FULL-TIME with photography!!! We have finally reached a point in our personal and business lives that I can go FULL-TIME! I will not have another job taking some of my time or energy (teaching 4 years olds was draining!). All my time and energy can be focused on my family and running my business! I am so excited!!!!  I love serving my clients and I can’t wait to see what this year brings!!!
