It was a surprise-Intimate Ft. Monroe wedding! This bride and groom didn’t even know I was coming! Their family contacted me and since I wasn’t in labor yet, I came out of maternity leave to make this a memorable day!Missy and Bob’s sweet family are dear clients of mine and I have photographed them several times so I did everything I can to make sure that I could help them out with this sweet surprise! At 38 weeks pregnant I made my way to Ft. Monroe, Virginia to photograph this intimate, Ft. Monroe wedding!
As a bride, you want everything to be perfect. You have a vision and an idea of what you want your wedding day to look like and usually rain and cold temperatures are not part of the plan. Unfortunately, it rained and it was very cold during this wedding and their original plans had to change. BUT, that didn’t stop their friends and family from coming to be a part of their wedding day. And as you can tell it didn’t stop this bride and groom from being excited about being married either! The sun may not have been out, but these two were radiant with love for each other and that is all that matters!!!
When I arrived the bride was filled in that I was a surprise wedding gift for them! (Everyone should have beautiful photographs of their wedding day!) And we were able to immediately start taking pictures of the happy couple under an gazebo at Ft. Monroe (praise the Lord for that gazebo, it saved us all from getting drenched!). After portraits, they had their ceremony and celebrated with family! It was so sweet to be a part of their wedding day!
It was so cold during this intimate Ft. Monroe wedding!
