It was a hot and humid evening in Prince William County, but it didn’t stop these two from celebrating their love and having a romantic summer engagement session! McKenzie’s family owns a beautiful piece of land out in the country in Prince William County, Virginia. And it was the perfect location for this engagement session, since McKenzie loves the rustic-look. Their property had a pond, a beautiful black fence and wide open spaces.  And their sweet neighbors let us use their adorable little red barn!

Kevin and McKenzie met in high school and over the years their love for each other blossomed. And this year they got engaged and I just have to share their adorable proposal story. It was McKenzie’s birthday and Kevin (and her family) had big surprises planned for her. Kevin told McKenzie that he was going to go practice shooting out on the back of her family’s property before they went out to dinner to celebrate her birthday. Little did she know, that he actually was setting up a romantic spot full of rustic details and candles to proposal to her. He even had his mom hide out to capture pictures.

The hard part for Kevin was getting her out to the spot where he had everything set-up. He had to tell a little white lie and said that he lost is wallet out in the woods and that he needed to find it. Well, McKenzie and her family had dinner reservations, so she was getting a little impatient with Kevin, like any of us would do while waiting on someone else (oh, little did she know what was about to happen!). It finally took her family, who knew what was about to happen, to convince her to go outside towards Kevin. And once she was out there, she realized that the man of her dreams didn’t lose his wallet, he was waiting for her. He was waiting to propose and to show her  how much he truly loved her.

I just loved this Romantic Summer Engagement Session! McKenzie, you are just gorgeous!! You are going to make one stunning bride! This property had this amazing rustic fence! Just perfect for an engagement session! Definitely a favorite!
