I had such an honor of photographing the Board of Serve the City-Peninsula. They want to see lives, neighborhoods, and cities transformed because everyone is serving! They want to see the resources and the needs of the city and those who live there connected, through volunteer involvement that intentionally includes everyone!
On the Peninsula, we want to see redeveloping communities transformed through partnerships between the police department, faith-based organizations, civic leagues, businesses and schools by building trusting relationships that bring hope and health.
In a nutshell, they transform lives and communities by mobilizing volunteers to do acts of kindness for those in need.
They have seen the Lord bring smiles to the faces of many elderly and disabled people because volunteers gave them hope and showed them that someone cared about them. They have also seen God provide for needs over and over again. COVID and quarantine could not put limits on God, He certainly is strong when we are weak.
So how can you support this organization?
Please pray for volunteers to help with behind the scenes tasks like event planning, volunteer coordinating, marketing, photography and videography.
Those who would like to financially support Serve the City Peninsula can do so on our web site. We are a volunteer run organization, so every dollar is invested in the community.
They would like to invite the community to come out and serve. It makes you feel good to do something for someone else. We have Big Volunteer Days once a month and a Big Volunteer Week July 13th – 17th. *THIS IS COMING UP IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER AND SERVE. Opportunities range from minor home repair and yard work to organizing a warehouse of goods for people coming out of homelessness, from delivering food to the elderly to writing cards of encouragement to victims of abuse. Hopefully soon we will be back to hosting BINGO for our senior friends. In addition to serving the elderly and disabled we partner with other non-profits to help them better serve their clients.
