We love surprise proposals! And recently I had the opportunity to help plan a surprise proposal in Occuquan, Virginia! Chris reached out to me about photographing his surprise proposal to his girlfriend, Care, and I couldn’t have been more excited and honored to be a part of it! Chris had a plan of where and when he wanted to proposal, I was able to help him stage the proposal site ahead of time (he had a custom banner ordered and a bouquet of flowers!). And it was magical to be there to witness the proposal, the excitement, and their sweet love!

Chris proposed at River Mill Park in Occuquan, where they had visited before and had a special spot. It was a great location! I had a slight problem – where was I going to hide?! It was a surprise proposal, Care couldn’t see me with my camera or realize what was going to happen! Well, praise the Lord, for great friends (and a past #dgcouple!!). I was able to hide out in plain sight, as it were, photographing another couple and their dog! We staged a portrait session (don’t worry they did actually get some pictures, too!), and our friends were able to help me set-up everything, and tell me when Chris was about to propose. It was the perfect plan, and it was the perfect afternoon!

Care said, “yes”! And we were able to walk around River Mill park and the surrounding areas to photograph the joyous occasion!

She said YES!Just look at her look at Chris! You can tell that she is in love! I love that Chris ordered flowers for Care! It was such a sweet touch to the proposal!And it worked out perfectly that there was a LOVE sign in River Mill Park! This proposal was just perfect! Their sunglasses were a Christmas gift, so they of course had to get a few pictures rocking them! Care, you are so beautiful! Such a stunning ring! We were able to walk around River Mill Park and the surrounding areas. We found the perfect location to be able to have the town of Occoquan behind them!How perfect is this bracelet?
