I did something different and unique, I photographed the sweetest sister session at Christopher Newport University! And I just loved it, because I have known these two lovely ladies for a very long time.
When I was pregnant with Leland, these sweet girls’ mom (Liz), gifted me with a 4×6 frame that was on my registry. The frame says, “My sister and me” and it currently sits in Leland’s room. I know that doesn’t seem like anything special, but she told me that they (her husband Kevin and herself, along with grandparents) have made it very intentional to teach these girls that they (as sisters) are always on the same team in life and that being sisters is a gift from God. And that thought has stuck with me. Having a sibling is a blessing.
As a parent now, I completely understand why Liz and Kevin wanted photographs of their girls. They are almost adults (which is sooo weird to say), their friendship and relationship might change as they venture out into the world, but they will always be sisters.
What a fun idea to photograph two sisters and the beautiful relationship of siblings. And what an honor to photograph these two girls! Daniel and I have known their family since these girls were little. I used to babysit them and now I have watched them grow up in our church.
When I was in college, I used to bike from Christopher Newport University to the Hass home to babysit these girls. And it is so surreal that these girls are 16 and 13 now! I just love this one of Sydney!I love this funny sister picture! Sorry, girls, but I just had to add a fun outtake picture! This is what being sisters is all about. Sisterhood is forever. These girls will be sisters forever no matter what life brings. I love this one of Savannah!Another favorite!
