I am so excited to share this sweet maternity session. We met at Maymont Park in Richmond, Va and it ended up being a typical summer evening, the sun was shinning and it was hot and humid. It had poured down rain on my way to Richmond, so I was excited that the sun was shining, heat and all! And my sweet couple were complete pros during the entire session! That’s because this couple is #dgcouple! Courtney and Ben’s got married in 2017 and they were my first wedding after having Kylie. Right after I had Kylie, I questioned my ability to run a business/shoot weddings. But, Courtney and Ben’s beautiful Spring, Kentucky Derby-themed wedding reminded me how much I loved shooting weddings.
And as soon I got that email that Courtney and Ben were expecting, I was thrilled for them!! We meet up again (the first time, since I had seen them after their wedding), at Maymont Park in Richmond for their maternity session. And it was so great to see them and to hear all about their adventures as parents thus far. They have had a worrisome pregnancy with their baby having a low-heart rate but the doctors gave them some encouraging news around the time of this shoot and it sounds like everything should be alright(but, I am sure they will still appreciate prayers over them.)!
Courtney was just glowing during this shoot! She looks adorable pregnant! And Ben couldn’t have been happier. You can tell that they are just thrilled to be having a baby! And they are brave enough to not find out the gender!! I couldn’t believe it!
They are planning a beautiful nursery with green tones and wooden earth tones which was a perfect color scheme for this shoot. Maymont has such beautiful grounds, blooming gardens, and nature-themed colors that these pictures should match their nursery perfectly! And those colors and theme will be perfect for a baby boy or a baby girl!
Courtney looks SO good for being 28 weeks along!!! 
Isn’t this sign just the cutest?!! Courtney gave Ben this print for the nursery for Father’s Day! It displays lyrics from a song that is sung between Dads from the musical Hamilton. 
Courtney has that beautiful pregnancy glow!
