Courtney and Ben planned the perfect Derby-Inspired Spring wedding with soft colors, beautiful bouquets and a historic venue. Courtney wore a gorgeous gown, perfect for an outdoor wedding. Her bridesmaids were by her side the entire day, celebrating and even crying while they watched her add her final touches to her bridal look to say her “I do’s!” Ben and his groomsmen wore classic blue suits with spring colored ties and had us laughing the entire day!
Their ceremony was outside on the lawn of the historic Hanover court house, which had beautiful arches that framed the bride and groom as they said their vows. And then the party got started at the Carriage House at Hanover Tavern! The reception was full of surprises and even a viewing of the Kentucky Derby!
Courtney and Ben’s paths crossed over the years but it wasn’t until 2015 when they reconnected and found out that they had similar interests. They spent the next few years spending time with each other, exploring Richmond and even hiking the Shenandoah Valley together, and now they are married!
Congrats to Ben and Courtney Brown!
How beautiful is this ring?! The diamond was Ben’s grandmother’s!
This dress! It was perfect for a beautiful outdoor wedding! (And who doesn’t love a tulle skirt!)
The final buttons! I always love these sweet mother-daughter moments!
Such a sweet moment between sisters! Next year, Courtney will have the opportunity to help her sister get ready for her wedding!
There is nothing like the bond between sisters!
Ben wrote Courtney a letter on the their wedding day, which was on the same stationary that he used to write her a letter when they first met each other years ago.
Courtney, you are GORGEOUS!
Father-daughter first look!
They are just the cutest!
Just look at the way they look at each other!
Ceremony Time! The rain stopped just in time for the ceremony!
As part of their ceremony they tied their hands together to express their devotion to each other. The stole used was made by Courtney for Ben!
Yay! They are married!
This bridal party was amazing! Courtney and Ben you are truly blessed to have so many amazing friends!
These guys had us laughing the entire day!
I love that Courtney and Ben were willing to stand in a field in the rain for more portraits!
I love their hashtag!
Courtney’s mother knew about Ben’s love for VCU, so she set-up a little surprise for him!
Time for the Kentucky Derby!
What a gorgeous cake!
At the end of the night, Courtney and Ben shared one last dance together!
