It is always a pleasure to work with non-profits, especially Serve the City. Serve the City transforms lives and communities on the Virginia Peninsula by volunteering to do acts of kindness for those in need.
And I had the pleasure of photographing just two days of their Big Volunteer Week, last week.
Serve the City’s Big Volunteer Week provides people to serve the community the city they work and live in: the City of Newport News. Volunteers picked-up trash, prepared bags for the homeless, prepared bags for Thrive, cleaned out a community garden, and so much more! Volunteers completed 52 different projects in just a few days!
Groups from Peninsula Community Church, Summit Christian Academy, Newport News Shipyard, and Ferguson all served. Volunteers from all over the area came together to complete these projects and to serve their community.
Even little ones had the opportunity to serve and to encourage others.
